Memorable milestones

May has been an amazing month for milestones here.

Ava has learned to count to ten. At the beginning of May she only identified the color purple. Now she's added pink, yellow, white, brown, black, blue, green, red, and orange. She has also developed a passion for horses and asks to ride our carousel first thing when she awakes. Then she talks about riding the horses all day long. Perhaps she will love horses the way her brother loves cars...

Henry finished his first year of preschool and had a little performance (which Grandpa B and Lulu attended) and a field trip to Enchanted Forest (a local amusement park). It is hard to believe he's done already. I imagine I'll feel the same way each year. He can count to 100 (and beyond) and is super into numbers. He often asks about age ('Mom when will you be 67?') Imagine that question asked about 50 different ages throughout every day. Wow. Needless to say my mental math has been sharpened. No wonder I'm so tired! He has also taught himself to read. It is so astounding to us. He can breeze through a Dick and Jane book with minimal help. His love of learning never ceases to amaze us.
