A Happy Halloween

We had a really fun Halloween (though honestly we didn't take nearly as many pictures as we had intended to!). We had breakfast at the Pancake House, visits with Grandpa B and Lulu and Gigi and Papa, swimming, a run to the park, and dinner and trick-or-treating with Auntie Bev and Uncle Bruce who migrate to Palm Desert tomorrow. They will be dearly missed!

Our favorite little Halloween conversation of the day: Henry to Papa 'Trick or Treat!', Papa: 'Gosh I guess we'd better get some candy', Henry: 'I'll take a trick then!'.

Our favorite little football conversation of the day: Ava to Henry 'I like the Ducks do you like the Squeezers?, Carl to Ava 'Do you mean Beavers?', Ava back to Carl 'Yeah, the Sneezers--Papa likes them!'. Perhaps her hearing has been affected by those ear drum ruptures. Either way I am in stitches anytime I think about her saying this. She always speaks with such conviction and enthusiasm!

Worst costume: Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader giving out candy--not appropriate and not a good look! I actually gasped when she opened the door.

Carl created some elaborate pumpkins this week as is our tradition. He appeared at work on Friday as Dwight Shrute from The Office--now THAT was a good look. Sadly, my photo is pretty shoddy.

Oh and did I mention the Ducks beat USC 47-20? Carl was a very happy man.

It was a Happy Halloween!

The only photo of all 3 of them--Ava, a butterfly, Elyse, a pumpkin, and Henry, a spider (thanks to my mom and her iPhone...hopefully we'll do better next year!)

Loves from a very nice Mexican gentleman who oddly resembles Grandpa B! :)

The porch

Henry's African Pumpkin and Ava's Butterfly Pumpkin (note the fun Mr. Potato Head type pumpkins that were one of our many Halloween activities this week--Ava was especially fond of this little piggy)

Elyse's pumpkin that mimics her ponytails and one tooth (though a second broke through on Oct. 28th...) and mine with the many polka-dots...

Last but not least the Oregon pumpkin for my main squeeze

She can now send and receive signals :)

Another experiment in styling Elyse's hair. This big girl started army crawling today. She'll be flying around here in no time.

We had the privilege of celebrating Bruce's 70th birthday last night. Wow. I hope to be in as good of shape when I am 70 (ok I might even settle for HALF as good). It is such a blessing to have Bruce and Bev here in Salem.

These two middle photos were taken by Ava...not bad huh?
