So close

Elyse took her first steps (2) at my ultrasound appointment on February 11 and yesterday took 5...it won't be long until she'll be a biped too!

Our Tiniest Bean

Here is one of the ultrasound photos we had taken 2 weeks ago. The little babe was amazingly formed--little hands and feet waving around at only 9 weeks and 24 cm (about 1 inch). Wow.

Our responses have been more mixed with this pregnancy--from utter shock to joyous excitement--probably about the gamut that we have experienced ourselves! Perhaps our favorite is a quote from a colleague of Carl's in Montana "...wow, you two really know how to have fun...are you going to have to get a new vehicle to tow the family around now? I'd like to see it and hope that it comes with a coffee maker on board..."

Sensational Six!

Hard to believe that the 5 lb. 10 oz. baby we brought home from the hospital is now 6 years old...

Henry enjoyed a 3 day long birthday celebration. Dinner at B and Lulu's Saturday night to celebrate him and his Nana (they share a bday). Lulu really outdid herself with the feast!

Henry practicing on his new 'wooden flute' from B and Lulu...Ava in a dress that was mine as a little girl (I just had her name embroidered on it instead...).

Nana and Elyse enjoying a nice chat before she blows out the candles!

An afternoon Dinosaur party with some of his friends--we ended up with 9 kids (he wished the guest list could have been much longer but our house can only take so many kids!). Aunt Holly and David were our party helpers extraordonaire!

The invitation

Long-time buddies Marc and Sam excavating their dino skeletons.

Henry working diligently on his excavation--paleontologist hat to help with the vibe.

The group grabbing tiny dinos with their dino grabbers in The Great Dinosaur Round Up (they then had to sort them according to species into boxes).

Halley and Ava proudly completing (before devouring) their dinosaur nests. Ava was a trooper though she was pretty tired (thus her far-off gaze) by the end of the party.

The birthday boy--I promise I am not about to light his hat on fire! :)

Dinner at Papa and Gigi's afterward for pizza and cake and his class birthday celebration on Monday at school!

Showing his buddies a photo from when he was 4. Each student brings in a picture of themselves from each year of their life up until their bday to share with the class.

When he woke up on Monday he said exuberantly, "Momma, I FEEL 6, I really do!" He is thrilled and we are thrilled to celebrate him.
